Toolmaker's Clamps

Toolmakers clamps get there name from how they are often used to clamp small components and when machining parts (drilling, tapping) by toolmakers because of this they are also called machinists clamps sometimes, they can also be called parallel clamps because the jaws being parallel. Toolmakers clamps are a strong clamp and simple to operate clamp often used for precision work. The screws are normally turned anti-clockwise to open the jaws. Once the workpiece is in place the screws should be finger tightened then adjusted to hold the workpiece firmly in place without pivoting in the clamp, then the screws should be further tightened using a tommy bar for leverage.
